The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 11th minute, Radowit Jeziorkowski made a precise shot to the right of Vinicio Pérez. Colo-Colo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wincent Pracki in the 17th minute of play forced Colo-Colo's goalkeeper Vinicio Pérez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
