The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chalá Gamboa during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ booed when Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chalá Gamboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian de Godoi came free, but Fabio Ponce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xeromo Agraña charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xeromo Agraña the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When George Galera fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's protests and gave George Galera a yellow card for diving instead. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Gláuber Rosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanni Valle in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Giovani Veloso got a free kick in the 29th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adriano Rosa got free with Fabio Ponce in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabio Ponce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian de Godoi in the 34th minute of play. In the 36th minute of the match, Adriano Rosa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Fabio Ponce was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Adriano Rosa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fabio Ponce. That made the score 1-0 after 47 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adriano Rosa made a kick off. Fabio Ponce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes in the game, Hector-Luis Cadrecha fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gláuber Rosa having to interfere. Gláuber Rosa was a little too slow when Perlaza Corcoba got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 61st minute Geovanni Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gláuber Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's Fabio Ponce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano Rosa in the 68th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's Xeromo Agraña seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Xeromo Agraña the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Xeromo Agraña had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After some careless play in the Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato defense, Giuseppe da Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabio Ponce. The Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabio Ponce should have stopped the shot. Perlaza Corcoba hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Adriano Rosa got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Cristian de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ximenez Cuellar fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's protests and gave Ximenez Cuellar a yellow card for diving instead. After 96 played minutes Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato got a freekick which was hit by Ximenez Cuellar. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
