Benedito Nóbrega showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Eduardo Domingues in the 27th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the game, Denílson Urbano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galo do Japi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- the free kick. A collision led to Galo do Japi getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Denílson Urbano hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelinho Miranda in the 34th minute of play forced Galo do Japi's goalkeeper Benedito Nóbrega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Haroldo Recife showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 60 played minutes Galo do Japi got a freekick which was hit by Luís Madureira. Galo do Japi's Benedito Nóbrega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovânio Toscano in the 61st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Madureira got free with Haroldo Recife in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 68th minute, Denílson Urbano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Galo do Japi booed when Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Kauã Damião in the 81st minute really tested Haroldo Recife's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Benedito Nóbrega didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luís Fabiano Figueiredo went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 85th minute, Geovânio Toscano made a precise shot to the right of Benedito Nóbrega. Galo do Japi's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Galo do Japi players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
