After 7 minutes of play, Galo do Japi's Luís Madureira made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egídio Prado was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Luís Madureira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Egídio Prado was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. With a little luck, Galo do Japi's Benedito Nóbrega got control of the ball when Róbson Reis tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Benjamim Fernandes fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Benedito Nóbrega made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Dinei da Mata sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ademir Carvalho in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Egídio Prado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After 53 played minutes, Torino SSA's Edmundo Alagoano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benedito Nóbrega came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Torino SSA reached it. In the 62nd minute, Tomé Gerber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Egídio Prado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Madureira in the 67th minute of play. Dinei da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Nóbrega having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Torino SSA's Tony Catarinense got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 95th minute of the match Kauã Damião shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Egídio Prado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Galo do Japi's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
