Luís Fernando de Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlinhos Sergipano in the 3rd minute of the match. Rogério Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Vinícius Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot. União Verde FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vinícius Lago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Fernando Almeida breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 12 minutes, Válbson Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the União Verde FC and the São Paulo da Floresta players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th minute, Válbson Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 14 minutes of play, São Paulo da Floresta's Carlinhos Sergipano made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luís Fernando de Andrade was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geovanni Lopes in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Fernando de Andrade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valdomiro Paraibano hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Geovanni Lopes succeeded in the game's 19th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Elder Catarinense hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Wanderson Fantini hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. A collision led to São Paulo da Floresta getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Jefferson Mazza hit a great ball. After having played for 40 minutes, Carlinhos Sergipano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. São Paulo da Floresta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlinhos Sergipano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Diego Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in São Paulo da Floresta's zone, Vinícius Lago stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Fernando Almeida came out of the goal and Vinícius Lago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gilvan Pombal made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geovanni Lopes during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th match minute, São Paulo da Floresta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovanni Lopes to maneuver through the defense. Vinícius Lago scored 1-2 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Fernando Almeida, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 69 minutes into the match, Vinícius Lago had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Fernando Almeida. São Paulo da Floresta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vinícius Lago was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Carlos Fernando Almeida came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by União Verde FC's Gilvan Pombal. But to his dismay, Gilvan Pombal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Carlos Fernando Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinícius Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. The audience was convinced that Gilvan Pombal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Fernando Almeida was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, São Paulo da Floresta's Jefferson Mazza got a free kick in the 81st minute. 88 minutes into the match, São Paulo da Floresta's goal looked a bit too open when Gilvan Pombal came free, but Carlos Fernando Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 89 minutes into the game, União Verde FC's Vinícius Lago nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Carlos Fernando Almeida made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. 92 minutes into the match, Gilvan Pombal notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of São Paulo da Floresta's Carlos Fernando Almeida. Carlos Fernando Almeida was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There was no doubt that União Verde FC were the better team. União Verde FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
