Rolando Erasto had great luck who in the 17thth minute grab hold of the ball when Zé Pedro Pires from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Elder Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Errapel, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Breguete FC's Elder Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norberto Errapel in the 26th minute of play. In the 37th minute Norberto Errapel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elder Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de América's Elias Ospetsu got a free kick in the 40th minute. Rolando Erasto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evandro Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Júlio de Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute of the match Elias Ospetsu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elder Monteiro skillfully saved the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Vitinho Galvão hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the match, Breguete FC's goalkeeper Elder Monteiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norberto Errapel. After having played for 94 minutes, Octavio Bitxintxo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estudiantes de América's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octavio Bitxintxo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ciro Arlo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Elder Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Estudiantes de América's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
