In the 31st minute, Luiz Henrique reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Manos Papaiakovou. The goal made the score 2-0. Manos Papaiakovou was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Wanderson Paranaense capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wanderson Paranaense really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The referee ignored Go Ahead Eagles's protests and gave Panagiotis Bourousis a yellow card for diving instead.
