Sverre Refsnes hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 6 minutes into the match, Runar Holmgren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manos Papaiakovou. Go Ahead Eagles's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Runar Holmgren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panagiotis Bourousis in the 13th minute of play forced Daustad's goalkeeper Alfred Isachsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Daustad's goalkeeper Alfred Isachsen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Panagiotis Bourousis. Alfred Isachsen was a little too slow when Nikos Moustos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 1-1. Periklis Vakalis hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Manos Papaiakovou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christer Kaland, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Manos Papaiakovou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christer Kaland in the 26th minute of play. Ntinos Vounatsos hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manos Christodoulou in the 40th minute of play forced Daustad's goalkeeper Alfred Isachsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 minutes, Periklis Vakalis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Go Ahead Eagles and the Daustad players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Go Ahead Eagles's Periklis Vakalis got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 41st minute Runar Holmgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manos Papaiakovou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Go Ahead Eagles players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Daustad were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christer Kaland made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christer Kaland in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manos Papaiakovou saved Go Ahead Eagles from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Runar Holmgren took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Manos Papaiakovou to make any attempt to save it. After 56 played minutes Go Ahead Eagles got a freekick which was hit by Ntinos Vounatsos. Daustad's Lars Obrestad shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 57th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Manos Papaiakovou but with some difficulty. After 58 played minutes Daustad got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Bjørdal. Ntinos Vounatsos, 59 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 60th match minute, Go Ahead Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nikos Moustos to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Go Ahead Eagles's Manos Papaiakovou got control of the ball when Runar Holmgren tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Manos Christodoulou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Daustad's Jan-Ivar Steiro got a free kick in the 67th minute. Go Ahead Eagles's Panagiotis Bourousis got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 72 played minutes Go Ahead Eagles got a freekick which was hit by Christodoulos Vazakas. In the 77th minute, Periklis Vakalis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lars Obrestad was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 78th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 79 played minutes Daustad got a freekick which was hit by Runar Garberg. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Daustad's goalkeeper Alfred Isachsen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfred Isachsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giotis Kouloucheris in the 85th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Daustad's Lars Obrestad got a free kick in the 91st minute. If Jan-Frode Søderholm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Go Ahead Eagles supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Daustad's performance. The match ended with a win for Daustad.
