Gabriele Batistuta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Benat having to interfere. Pieter den Hartog charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pieter den Hartog the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pieter den Hartog hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aureliano Reynardo in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olivier Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 17thth minute of the game Feliciano Ugutz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lemel SV's Olivier Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Victor Benat made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Reinhard Braamhaar sent off a good shot on target. In the 25th minute Pastor Benat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olivier Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Feliciano Ugutz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Olivier Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, Lemel SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bastiaan Bruintjes to maneuver through the defense. Victor Benat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinhard Braamhaar in the 37th minute. Adan Quinton's late challenge caught a Lemel SV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adan Quinton helped the player get up and apologised. Victor Benat didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reinhard Braamhaar went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 44 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Feliciano Ugutz came free, but Olivier Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Lemel SV's Pieter den Hartog ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Victor Benat. Victor Benat yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Xeneizes made a substitution. Robustiano Endura replaced Claudio Peter. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pieter den Hartog made a kick off. Hans Degeling kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Olivier Kahn made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Pastor Benat sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Xeneizes getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Ariel Salvatore hit a great ball. Victor Benat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reinhard Braamhaar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Feliciano Ugutz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olivier Kahn having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Xeneizes's Emanuel Txanton seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Emanuel Txanton the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Xeneizes protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Emanuel Txanton had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 80th match minute, Xeneizes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Txanton to maneuver through the defense. Victor Benat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pieter den Hartog in the 81st minute of play. With a little luck, Lemel SV's Olivier Kahn got control of the ball when Robustiano Endura tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dries Teunisse's late challenge caught a Xeneizes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dries Teunisse helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Lemel SV's Dries Teunisse got a free kick in the 90th minute. If Robustiano Endura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Feliciano Ugutz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Feliciano Ugutz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lemel SV fans cheered their team off the field, for while Xeneizes had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
