Spectators: 7741 (Terracing: 5807, Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 154) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Pieter den Hartog kicked off to start the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lemel SV's zone, Attilio Casiraghi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olivier Kahn came out of the goal and Attilio Casiraghi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Pieter den Hartog's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Troiani was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Anselmo Troiani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta in the 8th minute of play. After 10 minutes of play, Lemel SV's Reinhard Braamhaar made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anselmo Troiani was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leon Reiling hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, ASD Real Molinella 1911's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriele Batistuta came free, but Anselmo Troiani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the ASD Real Molinella 1911 defense, Pieter den Hartog kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anselmo Troiani. The ASD Real Molinella 1911 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anselmo Troiani should have stopped the shot. ASD Real Molinella 1911's Francesco Sciarretta got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anselmo Troiani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reinhard Braamhaar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the game, Lemel SV's Bastiaan Bruintjes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anselmo Troiani made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 35th minute, Gabriele Batistuta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 35th play minutes Pieter den Hartog shot 0-4, a short shot which went by Anselmo Troiani and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 41st match minute, Lemel SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dries Teunisse to maneuver through the defense. Anselmo Troiani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pieter den Hartog, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felice Di Cristofaro was the one to do the kick off. Francesco Sciarretta struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Olivier Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ASD Real Molinella 1911. Attilio Casiraghi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Olivier Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Jack de Zwaan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anselmo Troiani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Attilio Casiraghi during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Pieter den Hartog managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lemel SV's supporters rose to their feet, but Pieter den Hartog was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anselmo Troiani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Anselmo Troiani came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Lemel SV's Reinhard Braamhaar. But to his dismay, Reinhard Braamhaar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. After having played for 73 minutes, Bastiaan Bruintjes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lemel SV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bastiaan Bruintjes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anselmo Troiani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Bastiaan Bruintjes scored 0-6 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anselmo Troiani, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Felice Di Cristofaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 85 minutes, Bastiaan Bruintjes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lemel SV and the ASD Real Molinella 1911 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 85 played minutes Lemel SV got a freekick which was hit by Bastiaan Bruintjes. Francesco Sciarretta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olivier Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pieter den Hartog in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anselmo Troiani saved ASD Real Molinella 1911 from getting behind.
