Thanks to some nice moves Júnior Tinoco could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Dylan Pizzuto however easily saved by the left post. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Doriva Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Borg Xuereb in the 25th minute of play. Doriva Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Borg Xuereb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dylan Pizzuto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júnior Tinoco's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute Abel Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dylan Pizzuto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Templars FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Raymond Callus hit a great ball. The supporters of CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ booed when Templars FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Aquilina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dylan Pizzuto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Matorin in the 44th minute of play. After some careless play in the CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ defense, Mark Borg Xuereb kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Doriva Simões. The CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Doriva Simões should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Peppino Azzopardi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Templars FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After 57 played minutes Templars FC got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Micallef. After a rather tough play, Templars FC's Dennis Micallef got a free kick in the 58th minute. Artur Sarmento kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Doriva Simões was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Adam Aquilina showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 89 minute of play. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Doriva Simões proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. Peter Degiorgio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Doriva Simões made a huge save. When the match was over Templars FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ throughout the match.
