After 6 played minutes Söderbröder got a freekick which was hit by Ove Rosin. The audience was convinced that Peter Degiorgio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrik Svartengren was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Söderbröder's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mark Cuschieri was slow to take the kick. During this time Templars FC's players had a chance to rest. Mark Cuschieri made a great header on Templars FC's corner, it was just that Söderbröder's Patrik Svartengren managed to reach the ball for a save. After a rather tough play, Söderbröder's Herbert Vallander got a free kick in the 9th minute. Dylan Pizzuto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herbert Vallander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 21 minutes, Mark Cuschieri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Templars FC and the Söderbröder players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Templars FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Mark Cuschieri hit a great ball. When Filip Albom fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Söderbröder's protests and gave Filip Albom a yellow card for diving instead. Filip Albom kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute Mark Borg Xuereb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrik Svartengren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peter Degiorgio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrik Svartengren having to interfere. In the 40th minute Peppino Azzopardi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrik Svartengren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peter Degiorgio scored 1-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patrik Svartengren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dylan Pizzuto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Henrik Apelkvist showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 46 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Luigi Abela Medici lost his temper 53 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 52 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Templars FC! Templars FC's Dylan Pizzuto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Vallander in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of Söderbröder booed when Templars FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Borg Xuereb didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrik Svartengren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peppino Azzopardi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Adam Aquilina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mark Cuschieri in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patrik Svartengren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 73rd minute, Henrik Apelkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dylan Pizzuto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filip Albom in the 81st minute of the match. If Mark Cuschieri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Emander hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Peppino Azzopardi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Patrik Svartengren came out and tried to block the shot, but Peppino Azzopardi slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 88th minute. In the 93rd minute Peter Degiorgio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrik Svartengren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peter Degiorgio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 99 minutes, Mark Cuschieri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Templars FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mark Cuschieri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Templars FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Söderbröder from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
