Spectators: 7687 (Terracing: 5766, Seating: 1768, VIP seats: 153) Club Atlético Atlanta's Jonatan Felipo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Club Atlético Atlanta's Basilio Justin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cazimir Zăraşcu in the 3rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Joaquin Fonso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sergiu Angheluță breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th minute, Joaquin Fonso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulino Frechoso kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Sorin Năsturels short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Basilio Justin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Basilio Justin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dacian Jumancă, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonatan Felipo in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sergiu Angheluță prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gaston Joanes during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Champions Iasi's Costică Perșa was substituted for Cazimir Zăraşcu. The supporters of Champions Iasi booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaston Joanes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Paulino Frechoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Gaston Joanes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Club Atlético Atlanta were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Costică Perșa to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Eustaquio Gerazan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulino Frechoso during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sergiu Angheluță took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Paulin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 82 played minutes, Club Atlético Atlanta's Dionisio Monico shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sergiu Angheluță came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Atlético Atlanta reached it. In the 84th minute Dionisio Monico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergiu Angheluță saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Atlético Atlanta's Jonatan Felipo got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elpidio Shantala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Basilio Justin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Vâlcu in the 91st minute of the match.
