After 28 played minutes Club Getafe Deportivo got a freekick which was hit by Gizon Bernal. Kelemen Gil made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Oscar Beckman sent off a good shot on target. Aleksander Stålman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kelemen Gil having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as AIK FOTBOLL's Nils-Erik Brogren slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kelemen Gil. That made the score 1-1 after 35 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lazaro Climent in the 38th minute of play forced AIK FOTBOLL's goalkeeper Ivar Rolfsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. AIK FOTBOLL's Ivar Rolfsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lazaro Climent in the 41st minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ugaitz Japón to make the kick off. AIK FOTBOLL were furious when Örjan Kaxe was red carded, 79 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of Club Getafe Deportivo booed when AIK FOTBOLL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börge Örtendahl didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 90 played minutes, Club Getafe Deportivo's Castulo Zabalo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivar Rolfsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Club Getafe Deportivo reached it. After 94 played minutes AIK FOTBOLL got a freekick which was hit by Conny Martinsson.
