The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 哥伦布 Inzaghi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Dirk-Jan Akkerman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carsten van Wonderen got free with 徐烽鹰 in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bjorn Veltman hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 徐烽鹰 came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by The Underdogs's Carsten van Wonderen. But to his dismay, Carsten van Wonderen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 徐烽鹰 made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Sjors Kolkman sent off a good shot on target. 龙沙谦 scored 1-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dirk-Jan Akkerman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 36 minutes into the game, 『盛世メ名門』皇家哥伦布COLOMBO F.C.'s 龙沙谦 nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dirk-Jan Akkerman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The Underdogs's Dirk-Jan Akkerman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 龙沙谦 in the 40th minute of play. When Olof Oosting fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Underdogs's protests and gave Olof Oosting a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th match minute, The Underdogs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olof Oosting to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Carsten van Wonderen made the kick off in the second half. When Bjorn Veltman fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Underdogs's protests and gave Bjorn Veltman a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of 『盛世メ名門』皇家哥伦布COLOMBO F.C. booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bjorn Veltman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 『盛世メ名門』皇家哥伦布COLOMBO F.C.'s 徐烽鹰 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sjors Kolkman in the 55th minute of play. When Carsten van Wonderen came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the The Underdogs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carsten van Wonderen couldn't finish the play. When Olof Oosting was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 59 minutes had been played. In the 59th match minute, The Underdogs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olof Oosting to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, 『盛世メ名門』皇家哥伦布COLOMBO F.C.'s 唐辉俊 tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 63rd minute Bjorn Veltman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 徐烽鹰 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 徐烽鹰 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carsten van Wonderen in the 70th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Folker Rekers during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 74th minute, Folker Rekers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 杜源寒 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After having played for 84 minutes, Hugo Ijsselhof managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Underdogs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Ijsselhof was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dirk-Jan Akkerman made an important save on a dangerous shot by 龙沙谦 in the 90th minute.
