Olympique Fribourg's Chris Lang proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 2nd minute of the match, managed to save Olympique Fribourg from getting a goal against them. Valeriu Paraschivescu was extremely unlucky when he, in the 4th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Chris Lang stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliodor Petran's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. A collision led to Olympique Fribourg getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Martin Zinsli hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Chris Lang had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valeriu Paraschivescu. Valeriu Paraschivescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Chris Lang made a huge save. In the 15th match minute, Olympique Fribourg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davide Gubser to maneuver through the defense. When Eliodor Petran fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buffalo Timişoara's protests and gave Eliodor Petran a yellow card for diving instead. Eliodor Petran kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Blaise Näf hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Olympique Fribourg's goal looked a bit too open when Eliodor Petran came free, but Chris Lang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Buffalo Timişoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliodor Petran to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Buffalo Timişoara's Eliodor Petran got a free kick in the 28th minute. David Chițes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blaise Näf in the 29th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andrei Zâncă got free with Chris Lang in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sepp Gerig took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Chițes. David Chițes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliodor Petran in the 43rd minute of play forced Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Chris Lang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andrei Zâncă struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Chris Lang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buffalo Timişoara. Karsten Eggers kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Olympique Fribourg were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eliodor Petran made a kick off. Martin Zinsli hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. When Iosif Aluchei fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buffalo Timişoara's protests and gave Iosif Aluchei a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th minute, Iosif Aluchei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Buffalo Timişoara booed when Olympique Fribourg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davide Gubser didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute, Mihai Poalelungi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Buffalo Timişoara fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 62ndth minute of the game Andrei Zâncă who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Olympique Fribourg's Chris Lang was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chris Lang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliodor Petran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Olympique Fribourg's zone, Mihai Poalelungi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chris Lang came out of the goal and Mihai Poalelungi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Olympique Fribourg's Davide Gubser got a free kick in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliodor Petran in the 67th minute of play forced Olympique Fribourg's goalkeeper Chris Lang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chris Lang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliodor Petran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Chițes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sepp Gerig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 77 minutes of play, Buffalo Timişoara's Mihai Poalelungi made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chris Lang was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 93 played minutes Olympique Fribourg got a freekick which was hit by Martin Zinsli. When Jerrick Heuberger fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olympique Fribourg's protests and gave Jerrick Heuberger a yellow card for diving instead. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Olympique Fribourg! In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Buffalo Timişoara. Mugur Hudiță stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Chris Lang. 5-1.
