Carlos Eduardo Rossi hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. 27 de Mayo's Raí Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romulo Nahia in the 5th minute of play. Romeo Benvide showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hílton Cardoso in the 9th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pilar FC's Freddy Emenon got a free kick in the 11th minute. After 15 played minutes 27 de Mayo got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Proença. Romeo Benvide made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hílton Cardoso in the 17th minute of play. The supporters of 27 de Mayo booed when Pilar FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Claude didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind 27 de Mayo's goalkeeper Raí Bertassi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 25 minutes of play, Pilar FC's Ildefonso Frechoso made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Raí Bertassi was left in no man's land by his defense there! 30 minutes into the game, one of 27 de Mayo:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Raí Bertassi had in the 33rdth minute some difficulties stopping Federico Vasco's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Federico Vasco did an outstanding performance 33 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 0-2 to the right of an irritated Raí Bertassi in the goal. A collision led to Pilar FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Roque Fertus hit a great ball. The long shot by Egídio Proença in the 45th minute really tested Romeo Benvide's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romulo Nahia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Romeo Benvide took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egídio Proença, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hílton Cardoso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Romeo Benvide having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Pilar FC's Freddy Emenon got a free kick in the 66th minute. If Dedê de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Pilar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Proença came free, but Romeo Benvide reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Egídio Proença hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 87th match minute, 27 de Mayo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Silveira to maneuver through the defense. Romeo Benvide showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedê de Senna in the 89th minute of the match.
