An unexpectedly hard shot by Torben Propst in the 15th minute of play forced Arrecifes's goalkeeper Leonardo Corderro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Zinsli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the match, Arrecifes's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Zinsli came free, but Leonardo Corderro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Froilan Cutberto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Guillaume Vittiger when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Abel Egoitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Guillaume Vittiger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abel Egoitz made a kick off. Uli Bieri made in the 54th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ansgar Kalb however managed to control. Arrecifes's attentive Lucio Hever managed to snatch the ball when Uli Bieri made a throw-in in the 55th minute of the game. Froilan Cutberto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Froilan Cutberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee gave Olympique Fribourg a penalty, 70 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sven Kuefer, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Arrecifes's Leonardo Corderro. 0-2. Arrecifes's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ralf Bianco 74 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. In the 78th match minute, Arrecifes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Egoitz to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Arrecifes's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Martin Zinsli fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dalmacio Honrio during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Arrecifes getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Dalmacio Honrio hit a great ball. Guillaume Vittiger didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serafino Naldo went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. When the final whistle sounded Olympique Fribourg left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Arrecifes.
