Barrio Norte FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pilar FC the free kick. After 31 played minutes Barrio Norte FC got a freekick which was hit by Abel Espejo. Laurín Vela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ildefonso Frechoso in the 35th minute of the match. Romeo Benvide showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moncho De la Sotta, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After 46 minutes, Francisco José Makaus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barrio Norte FC and the Pilar FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

If Ildefonso Frechoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
