Giorgos Maragoziss short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Fondas Kalantas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giorgos Maragozis got free with Fondas Kalantas in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kerkyra FC were awarded a corner in the 18th minute after Olympiacos FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Valentinos Kanellakis took the corner. The corner led Kerkyra FC's Giorgos Maragozis to a score. 2-0 in the 18th minute. Fondas Kalantas made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Marinos Katsiaros sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kostas Tziolas in the 38th minute of play forced Kerkyra FC's goalkeeper Dimitris Giannakidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marinos Katsiaros charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Dimitris Giannakidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kostas Tziolas in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Giorgos Maragozis made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Theofilos Touboulis during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Theofilos Touboulis hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The supporters of Olympiacos FC booed when Kerkyra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Apostolos Fragoulakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Olympiacos FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Kerkyra FC.
