After a defensive mix-up in Ágætis Byrjun's zone, Butet Wilza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ab Veenema came out of the goal and Butet Wilza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Boukjan Schalkwijk hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Ab Veenema showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Asep Ridholhaqqi in the 40th minute of the match. Robin Willemsen hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX SC's Asep Ridholhaqqi got a free kick in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Butet Wilza made the kick off in the second half. PHOENIX SC's Markus Sirait played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Buys in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of PHOENIX SC booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boukjan Schalkwijk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Asep Ridholhaqqi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when PHOENIX SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Butet Wilza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ab Veenema made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Butet Wilza in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Buys in the 88th minute of play forced PHOENIX SC's goalkeeper Markus Sirait to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ágætis Byrjun had won after a very even match.
