The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Martin Pasqua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jovan Markovič, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Cristian Maleș made a great header on F.C. After 12 minutes, Paulino Alfebra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chivos de Punto Fijo and the F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta- players grew even worse after the yellow card. Paulino Alfebra hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Denis Buteanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Gay in the 14th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Aanuţei in the 15th minute of play forced Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Martin Pasqua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Dan Aanuţei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Martin Pasqua had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jovan Markovič. After 38 played minutes Chivos de Punto Fijo got a freekick which was hit by Rosalio Azpiazu. After 39 minutes of play, Chivos de Punto Fijo's Gabriel Gay made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denis Buteanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! 45 minutes into the match, Chivos de Punto Fijo's goal looked a bit too open when Jovan Markovič came free, but Martin Pasqua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gabriel Gay was the one to do the kick off. F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta-'s Denis Buteanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta- from getting a goal against them. When Cristian Maleș fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta-'s protests and gave Cristian Maleș a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta-'s Traian Guguianu got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute, Lidon Bengoa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. F.C. In the 68th minute, Jovan Markovič left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta- fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. In the 75th minute Martin Amenedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Buteanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 played minutes Chivos de Punto Fijo got a freekick which was hit by Jose Gay. Chivos de Punto Fijo made a substitution. Jeronimo Corrales replaced Gabriel Gay. After 78 played minutes Chivos de Punto Fijo got a freekick which was hit by Jose Gay. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jovan Markovič in the 80th minute of play forced Chivos de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Martin Pasqua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Chivos de Punto Fijo's Ilazki Zumalburu got a free kick in the 80th minute. A collision led to Chivos de Punto Fijo getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. DIANU 76 -Stiinta-'s goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jeronimo Corrales 92 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Chivos de Punto Fijo's Martin Amenedo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Denis Buteanu. That made the score 1-5 after 96 minutes of play. Chivos de Punto Fijo's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
