Spectators: 8083 (Terracing: 6063, Seating: 1859, VIP seats: 161) FC Lugano's Tiziano Gamache started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. FC Lugano's Max Sevier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save FC Lugano from getting a goal against them. Tiziano Gamache struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Denis Buteanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Lugano. Cristian Maleș charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristian Maleș the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th minute, Cristian Maleș hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fedor Adler might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denis Buteanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fedor Adler ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guido Emennegger during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tiziano Gamache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tiziano Gamache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gigel Novac sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. FC Lugano's Max Sevier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gigel Novac in the 32nd minute of play. Gigel Vârșan's late challenge caught a FC Lugano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gigel Vârșan helped the player get up and apologised. Gigel Vârșan hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, Odysseus De Souza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Denis Buteanu. F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Odysseus De Souza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. If Jovan Markovič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta-'s Jovan Markovič in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Lugano's goalie prevented a goal. During the 43rd minute of the match Guido Emennegger completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Guido Emennegger a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Max Sevier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dan Aanuţei in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jovan Markovič stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Odysseus De Souza. In the 52nd match minute, F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Aanuţei to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute Jovan Markovič shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Sevier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fedor Adler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Denis Buteanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Lugano made a substitution. Fidelio Haller replaced Fedor Adler. FC Lugano's Ulric Donsante was substituted for Tiziano Gamache. The supporters of FC Lugano booed when F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Aanuţei didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 62 played minutes F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta- got a freekick which was hit by Jovan Markovič. Jovan Markovič's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Max Sevier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Ulric Donsante kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Denis Buteanu. That made the score 2-3 in the 72 minute of play. After a rather tough play, F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta-'s Dan Aanuţei got a free kick in the 76th minute. Denis Buteanu stood somewhat misplaced when Fidelio Haller came free in front of goal and shot 2-4 to the left of him in the 84 minute. The supporters of FC Lugano booed when F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Constantin Ene didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Lugano played a much better game than F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta- and deserved their victory. The F.C. DIANU 76 -Stiinta- players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
