The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rosalio Padolles during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rosalio Padolles hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Atlético Municipal's Basilio Munet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcel Viana in the 24th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Marcel Viana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Basilio Munet was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 41 minutes into the match, Ongile Arainz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rubinho Abreu, 2-1. The supporters of ADM Taquaras booed when Atlético Municipal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rosalio Padolles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Madureira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Basilio Munet. Atlético Municipal's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

53 minutes into the game, Ediberto Lopez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ADM Taquaras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Municipal the free kick. In the 53rd match minute, ADM Taquaras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ediberto Lopez to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes into the match, ADM Taquaras's goal looked a bit too open when Ongile Arainz came free, but Rubinho Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 67 minutes, Caetano Diz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Municipal and the ADM Taquaras players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of ADM Taquaras booed when Atlético Municipal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Diz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcel Viana hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. If Marcel Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubinho Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oier Laincera in the 87th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcel Viana got free with Basilio Munet in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Atlético Municipal's Basilio Munet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Municipal from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute, Dorival Fontes fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Basilio Munet, passed just outside the right post. After a rather tough play, ADM Taquaras's Ediberto Varela got a free kick in the 96th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
