The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Floris Talsma in the 2nd minute of play forced Glasgow Rangers FC's goalkeeper Ferruccio Carafa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lucas Uebels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Franco Ferrini's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. In the 7th minute, Emanuele Di Rado made a precise shot to the right of Lucas Uebels. Winthont FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After having played for 10 minutes, Emanuele Di Rado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glasgow Rangers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emanuele Di Rado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lucas Uebels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuele Di Rado in the 19th minute of play. Lucas Uebels showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eraldo Monaco in the 27th minute of the match. Jurjen Kors kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes, Glasgow Rangers FC's Comunardo Zollino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lucas Uebels came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Glasgow Rangers FC reached it. In the 29th match minute, Winthont FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Wijngaart to maneuver through the defense. Floris Talsma hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After 32 minutes of play, Glasgow Rangers FC's Comunardo Zollino made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lucas Uebels was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Franco Ferrini in the 35th minute of play forced Winthont FC's goalkeeper Lucas Uebels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 39 minutes into the game, when Ferdinando Di Santo put in a rough tackle. In the 39th minute, one of Glasgow Rangers FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Glasgow Rangers FC. Ferruccio Carafa had in the 41stth minute some difficulties stopping Ronny Hendriks's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Roelof Pietersma charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roelof Pietersma the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes Winthont FC got a freekick which was hit by Roelof Pietersma. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roger Wijngaart was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Roger Wijngaart got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58th minute Niels Schirring shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferruccio Carafa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niels Schirring recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 65 minutes into the game, Winthont FC's Roger Wijngaart nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ferruccio Carafa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. In the 77th minute, Floris Talsma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Lucas Uebels successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Floris Talsma charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Floris Talsma the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 84 minutes into the game, Eraldo Monaco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Lucas Uebels was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 88th minute, Floris Talsma hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Glasgow Rangers FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
