Saul Flor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th match minute, The Northmen Army was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddie Tholsson to maneuver through the defense. La Candela FC's Baldomiro Gonzalez got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vicente Urre made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Kent Sandström sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of The Northmen Army booed when La Candela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucio Matia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Ernst Holmberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vicente Urre showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Baldomiro Gonzalez might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastian Skarkman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baldomiro Gonzalez ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 36th match minute, The Northmen Army was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernst Holmberg to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Benigno Guillem managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Candela FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benigno Guillem was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastian Skarkman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half La Candela FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stig Lindqvist to make the kick off. Baldomiro Gonzalez's late challenge caught a The Northmen Army's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baldomiro Gonzalez helped the player get up and apologised. Baldomiro Gonzalez hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute Baldomiro Gonzalez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Skarkman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
