Nestor Ritchie might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Atanas Dlúgnekov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nestor Ritchie ran back to his position shaking his head. Esteve Videl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kamen Sarandev in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th match minute, Gutenberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Fliz to maneuver through the defense. Tencho Baykov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 19th match minute, Gutenberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Fliz to maneuver through the defense. Atanas Dlúgnekov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Ritchie in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Genko Marekov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute of the match Javier Franco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Atanas Dlúgnekov showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With an all-out effort, FC CSKA's Esteve Videl threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kamen Sarandev, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Amado Rocio fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gutenberg's protests and gave Amado Rocio a yellow card for diving instead. Amado Rocio kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After having played for 30 minutes, Kamen Sarandev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC CSKA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kamen Sarandev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Kamen Sarandev came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the FC CSKA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kamen Sarandev couldn't finish the play. Cristobal Fliz hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Kamen Sarandev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteve Videl having to interfere. Esteve Videl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tencho Baykov, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 38 minutes in the game, Kamen Sarandev dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Stoil Kastrev kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Javier Franco took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Atanas Dlúgnekov. FC CSKA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
After 58 minutes, Stoil Kastrev mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC CSKA and the Gutenberg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Atanas Dlúgnekov made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Santo Dominguez sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kamen Sarandev in the 87th minute of play forced Gutenberg's goalkeeper Esteve Videl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Filcho Angelchev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Santo Dominguez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
