Spectators: 8435 (Terracing: 6327, Seating: 1940, VIP seats: 168) An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel da Rocha in the 9th minute of play forced Lupere FC - DMZ's goalkeeper Walmir Leme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Douglas Viana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to SORRISO E. C. getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Carlos Arantes hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonçalo Baptista got free with Douglas Viana in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Flavinho Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lupere FC - DMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavinho Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Douglas Viana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lupere FC - DMZ's Gonçalo Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Lupere FC - DMZ's Flavinho Tavares got a free kick in the 38th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberto Mendonça made a kick off. Douglas Viana came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Lupere FC - DMZ's Zé Augusto Mineiro. But to his dismay, Zé Augusto Mineiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 60th minute, Antônio Xavier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Miguel da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walmir Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Mendonça in the 67th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SORRISO E. C.'s Miguel da Rocha got a free kick in the 68th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jardel Guimarães during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SORRISO E. C. booed when Lupere FC - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jardel Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cláudio Couto's late challenge caught a Lupere FC - DMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cláudio Couto helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to SORRISO E. C. getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Cláudio Couto hit a great ball. In the 76th minute Zé Augusto Mineiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Douglas Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Augusto Mineiro in the 76th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lupere FC - DMZ's Antônio Xavier got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 80 minutes of play Lupere FC - DMZ's Jardel Guimarães was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Cláudio Couto did an outstanding performance 82 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-1 to the right of an irritated Walmir Leme in the goal. In the 90th minute, Alberto Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the SORRISO E. C. players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
