The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pesqueira City's Ivo de Moraes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Pesqueira City from getting a goal against them. Ivo de Moraes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gonçalo Baptista's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Pesqueira City's Ivo de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonçalo Baptista in the 8th minute of play. Ivo de Moraes made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Gonçalo Baptista sent off a good shot on target. In the 11th minute, Pesqueira City's Doni Quintal seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Doni Quintal the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Pesqueira City protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Doni Quintal had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 12th match minute, Pesqueira City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doni Quintal to maneuver through the defense. Gonçalo Baptista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Ivo de Moraes made a huge save. With a little luck, Pesqueira City's Ivo de Moraes got control of the ball when Gonçalo Baptista tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 21 played minutes Pesqueira City got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Linares. In the 22nd minute of the match Jardel Guimarães shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivo de Moraes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Pesqueira City's Erasmo Linares got a free kick in the 23rd minute. 24 minutes into the match, Pesqueira City's goalkeeper Ivo de Moraes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gonçalo Baptista. The supporters of Lupere FC - DMZ booed when Pesqueira City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yan Netto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Ivo de Moraes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 28 minutes, Flavinho Tavares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lupere FC - DMZ and the Pesqueira City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Flavinho Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Lupere FC - DMZ's Nando Baptista got a free kick in the 36th minute. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Zé Augusto Mineiro took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Ivo de Moraes to make any attempt to save it. If Flavinho Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Ivo de Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavinho Tavares in the 57th minute of the match. After 60 played minutes Lupere FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Jardel Guimarães. In the 66th match minute, Lupere FC - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nando Baptista to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Pesqueira City getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Marquinhos Moraes hit a great ball. Durvalino Diniz hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Ivo de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Pesqueira City defense, Flavinho Tavares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivo de Moraes. The Pesqueira City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivo de Moraes should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Pesqueira City getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Marquinhos Moraes hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute Zé Augusto Mineiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marquinhos Moraes hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After 86 minutes of play Lupere FC - DMZ's Flavinho Tavares was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 86th minute, Flavinho Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivo de Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonçalo Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. A collision led to Pesqueira City getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Durvalino Diniz hit a great ball. When Zé Augusto Mineiro came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Lupere FC - DMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Augusto Mineiro couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that Lupere FC - DMZ were the better team. Lupere FC - DMZ's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
