Dedé Mazer hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 15 minutes into the match, Alzaga FC's goalkeeper Jorge Nesto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Serafim Simão. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Kinsen in the 31st minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Kinsen came free, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serafim Simão was the one to do the kick off. After 54 minutes, Ulysses Neto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palestra do Interior and the Alzaga FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ulysses Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match.
