A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Delfim Quintal hit a great ball. In the 10th match minute, SIMvergüenzas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Llanos Durango to maneuver through the defense. Palestra do Interior's David Vale couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 11th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SIMvergüenzas. 13 minutes into the match, SIMvergüenzas's goal looked a bit too open when Serafim Simão came free, but Torcuato Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Torcuato Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serafim Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Ulysses Neto got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 23rd minute, Sebastián Adán got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Torcuato Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jhon Barcellos in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandy Ogrocki in the 28th minute of play forced SIMvergüenzas's goalkeeper Torcuato Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the game, Llanos Durango was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SIMvergüenzas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra do Interior the free kick. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when SIMvergüenzas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Llanos Durango didn't get a good kick on the ball. Torcuato Garcia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serafim Simão went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Torcuato Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafim Simão, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Torcuato Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Almeida in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bero Freire made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in SIMvergüenzas's zone, Danilo Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Torcuato Garcia came out of the goal and Danilo Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th match minute, Palestra do Interior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Luz to maneuver through the defense. When Palestra do Interior's Jhon Barcellos, in the 58th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Palestra do Interior. Serafim Simão received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Torcuato Garcia came out and tried to block the shot, but Serafim Simão slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 60th minute. In the 64th minute, SIMvergüenzas's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sandy Ogrocki fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serafim Simão got free with Torcuato Garcia in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 71st minute, Serafim Simão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Torcuato Garcia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. If Rafael Mayol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute Serafim Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torcuato Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serafim Simão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Torcuato Garcia made a huge save. The SIMvergüenzas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Palestra do Interior's performance. The match ended with a win for Palestra do Interior.
