A collision led to Nova Iguaçu MZFC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Gernando Mineiro hit a great ball. After 9 played minutes Spams got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Jerano. 11 minutes into the match, César Alagoano notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Spams's Danijel Subašić. Danijel Subašić was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 19th match minute, Nova Iguaçu MZFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Túlio Vale to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Senen in the 24th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Giuseppe Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Nova Iguaçu MZFC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dalmo Rocha was the one to do the kick off. Giuseppe Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bosco Balaban, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After a rather tough play, Spams's Orlando Jerano got a free kick in the 54th minute. César Alagoano struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Danijel Subašić didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nova Iguaçu MZFC. If César Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Spams's Aquiles Maties got a free kick in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Rocha in the 85th minute of play forced Spams's goalkeeper Danijel Subašić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th match minute, Spams was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Senen to maneuver through the defense. Donato Senen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Giuseppe Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 96 minutes into the match, Spams's goalkeeper Danijel Subašić had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by César Alagoano. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
