Vlad Covrig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ubarna Huertas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ubarna Huertas scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vlad Covrig, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Berdoi Seiro hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sociedad Anónima's goalkeeper Pacifico Cezuago, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 15th minute, Ubarna Huertas made a precise shot to the right of Vlad Covrig. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Vlad Covrig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ubarna Huertas in the 18th minute of the match. In the 20th minute of the match Sociedad Anónima got a corner. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Christiano Planes ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Sociedad Anónima's corner Christiano Planes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vlad Covrig quite easily take care of the ball. Christiano Planes kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca were furious when Olimpiu Fecioru was red carded, 31 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sociedad Anónima:s goal. Vlad Covrig went to the wrong direction when Christiano Planes was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Damian Cârlan took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pacifico Cezuago. Pacifico Cezuago dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After the first half Sociedad Anónima were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Damian Cârlan was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Ubarna Huertas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vlad Covrig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cătălin Cosâmbescu kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca made a substitution. Adrian Bârsan replaced Eric Astafei. 64 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Ubarna Huertas came free, but Vlad Covrig reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Damian Cârlan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pacifico Cezuago was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. 72 minutes into the match, Sociedad Anónima's Ubarna Huertas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vlad Covrig narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 72nd match minute, Sociedad Anónima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubarna Huertas to maneuver through the defense. Asier Salvadores recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pacifico Cezuago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Cârlan, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The supporters of Sociedad Anónima booed when PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mircea Jupân didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ubarna Huertass short, quick shot in the 91stth minute got Vlad Covrig to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sociedad Anónima's performance. The match ended with a win for Sociedad Anónima.
