Eric Astafei who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Luiz Fernando Silva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Damian Cârlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fernando Silva having to interfere. Damian Cârlan took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luiz Fernando Silva. Luiz Fernando Silva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Vlad Covrig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateus Macedo in the 17th minute of the match. George Gurlui hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute, Paulinho Fonseca made a precise shot to the right of Vlad Covrig. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After 27 minutes of play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Paulinho Fonseca made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vlad Covrig was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Damian Cârlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 32 minutes, Eric Astafei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Astafei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 33 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Luiz Fernando Silva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petruț Crivac. Vlad Covrig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aílton Sousa in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Olimpiu Fecioru got a free kick in the 37th minute. If Eric Astafei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's goal looked a bit too open when Paulinho Fonseca came free, but Vlad Covrig reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paulinho Fonseca to strike the kick off in the second half. Vlad Covrig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulinho Fonseca in the 50th minute of play. Petruț Crivac kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Vlad Covrig proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Tiberiu Rotariu got a free kick in the 55th minute. With a little luck, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Vlad Covrig got control of the ball when Benedito Tande tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jovens Democratas MZC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca the free kick. After 92 played minutes Jovens Democratas MZC got a freekick which was hit by Evandro das Neves. Jovens Democratas MZC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
