The supporters of New Joinville - FSCMZ booed when MAFFIAN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolf Josefsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the game, MAFFIAN's Arnold Schwarzenegger nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silvinho Gaúcho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 14th match minute, MAFFIAN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rudolf Josefsson to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, New Joinville - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Silvinho Gaúcho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jean-Claude Van Damme. In the 18th minute Arnold Schwarzenegger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvinho Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the MAFFIAN defense, Humberto do Nascimento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kjell-Arne Hultman. The MAFFIAN fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kjell-Arne Hultman should have stopped the shot. Murillo Esteves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Jean-Claude Van Damme came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the MAFFIAN fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jean-Claude Van Damme couldn't finish the play. 36 minutes into the match, MAFFIAN's Sylvester Stallone broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 43rd minute of play forced New Joinville - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Silvinho Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnold Schwarzenegger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Silvinho Gaúcho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Humberto do Nascimento to strike the kick off in the second half. Kjell-Arne Hultman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Memphis Xande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kjell-Arne Hultman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Memphis Xande in the 57th minute of play. Arnold Schwarzenegger took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Silvinho Gaúcho. Silvinho Gaúcho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. New Joinville - FSCMZ's José Carlos Veiga was substituted for Silvério Rossi. After 66 minutes, Geovânio Viana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the New Joinville - FSCMZ and the MAFFIAN players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th minute, Geovânio Viana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kjell-Arne Hultman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Tepedino in the 72nd minute of play. Christian de Sousa's late challenge caught a MAFFIAN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Christian de Sousa helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 74th minute of the game. One of New Joinville - FSCMZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of MAFFIAN:s goal. Silvinho Gaúcho had in the 75thth minute some difficulties stopping Jean-Claude Van Damme's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jean-Claude Van Damme in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Silvinho Gaúcho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sylvester Stallone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 86th minute, Jean-Claude Van Damme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sylvester Stallone hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Murillo Esteves got free with Kjell-Arne Hultman in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 98thth minute of the game Arnold Schwarzenegger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New Joinville - FSCMZ's Silvinho Gaúcho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. MAFFIAN fully deserved thier win.
