The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ludomir Plucinik hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute Memphis Xande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cyprian Podolski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, SS SuperSonics's Szczepan Opat got a free kick in the 9th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xande Gol in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cyprian Podolski saved SS SuperSonics from getting behind. Cyprian Podolski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xande Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A well-hit corner resulted in Chicão Fernandez heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xande Gol in the 27th minute of play forced SS SuperSonics's goalkeeper Cyprian Podolski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ludomir Plucinik hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute, Xande Gol made a precise shot to the right of Cyprian Podolski. SS SuperSonics's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After some careless play in the SS SuperSonics defense, Xande Gol kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cyprian Podolski. The SS SuperSonics fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cyprian Podolski should have stopped the shot. The throw-in from Murillo Esteves in the 42nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by SS SuperSonics's Marek Hejza. After 43 played minutes SS SuperSonics got a freekick which was hit by Teobald Zukowski.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gucci Gangstad to strike the kick off in the second half. Cyprian Podolski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Haroldo Tepedino in the 53rd minute. Cyprian Podolski made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Xande Gol sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st minute Haroldo Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cyprian Podolski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to SS SuperSonics getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Gucci Gangstad hit a great ball. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Luiz Fábio Baiano was substituted for Chicão Fernandez. In the 63rd minute, Gucci Gangstad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto do Nascimento got free with Cyprian Podolski in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for New Joinville - FSCMZ! In the 75th minute, Gucci Gangstad ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silvinho Gaúcho was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Luiz Fábio Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Joinville - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Fábio Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cyprian Podolski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 80 played minutes New Joinville - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Róbson Travassos. After 81 played minutes, SS SuperSonics's Radowit Jazowski shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Silvinho Gaúcho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SS SuperSonics reached it. After 82 played minutes SS SuperSonics got a freekick which was hit by Iwan Pilitowski. If Xande Gol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. New Joinville - FSCMZ's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
