With an all-out effort, Skytta Toppidrettslag's Evaristo Pena threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ewan Rieu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 24th minute, Cenap Yalaza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the game, David Coutinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ren Bur was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Evaristo Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ewan Rieu in the 42nd minute of the match. Steffen Schlenz in the 46thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Evaristo Pena, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After the first half São Paulo Leste F.C. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 68th minute there was a penalty for Skytta Toppidrettslag. Cenap Yalaza stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Evaristo Pena. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oddvar Nordhus in the 71st minute of play forced São Paulo Leste F.C.'s goalkeeper Evaristo Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
