An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Cordarrol in the 8th minute of play forced UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper João Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orlando Teofilio hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute, Ren Zhi Ke made a precise shot to the right of João Massa. UFC STEAUA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Alvaro Cordarrol who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of João Massa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alvaro Cordarrol's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 22ndth minute, João Massa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 25 played minutes Alvaro Cordarrol rounded UFC STEAUA's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0. In the 27th minute of the match, Alvaro Cordarrol tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but João Massa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Orlando Teofilio had several of the UFC STEAUA's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 29 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed João Massa as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a little luck, UFC STEAUA's João Massa got control of the ball when Ren Zhi Ke tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Kaplan's Ren Zhi Ke slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of João Massa. That made the score 5-0 after 37 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ren Zhi Ke got free with João Massa in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alvaro Cordarrol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. João Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emilian Martinez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Therkild Prendorf, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. João Massa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ren Zhi Ke in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cezar Alexandru to make the kick off. João Massa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvaro Cordarrol's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Kaplan's Ren Zhi Ke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Massa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. João Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvaro Cordarrol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Enaut Ziguenza's late challenge caught a Kaplan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of Kaplan booed when UFC STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Massa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alvaro Cordarrol in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Massa saved UFC STEAUA from getting behind. In the 69th minute Damião Granja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, UFC STEAUA's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Cordarrol came free, but João Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Massa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee ended the match the Kaplan players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
