The audience thought a goal was coming when Rio Uchiha got free with João Massa in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to UFC STEAUA getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Cezar Alexandru hit a great ball. In the 9th minute of the match Eloy Betadur sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Massa skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Gwidon Michalski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Massa was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. After 12 minutes, Therkild Prendorf mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UFC STEAUA and the Yupandú FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 12 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Therkild Prendorf. João Massa came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Yupandú FC's Gwidon Michalski. But to his dismay, Gwidon Michalski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 27th minute Cezar Alexandru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Efren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg João Massa managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Yupandú FC's Gwidon Michalski fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 30th minute, Therkild Prendorf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the match, UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper João Massa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gwidon Michalski. After 32 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Corneliu Hurezeanu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rio Uchiha in the 34th minute of play forced UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper João Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Astor Efren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Therkild Prendorf, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Yupandú FC's Astor Efren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezar Alexandru in the 46th minute of play. After the first half UFC STEAUA were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gwidon Michalski was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gwidon Michalski in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Massa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Gwidon Michalski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Massa was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 56 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Gwidon Michalski sped through UFC STEAUA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of João Massa. When Corneliu Hurezeanu fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UFC STEAUA's protests and gave Corneliu Hurezeanu a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in UFC STEAUA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Yupandú FC. Eloy Betadur stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving João Massa. 3-2. After having played for 63 minutes, Nemesio Cordaryal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yupandú FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nemesio Cordaryal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Astor Efren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cezar Alexandru, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 65th minute Cezar Alexandru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Efren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67thth minute of the game Gwidon Michalski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UFC STEAUA's João Massa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Astor Efren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Therkild Prendorf in the 68th minute of the match. Astor Efren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Therkild Prendorf in the 71st minute of play. Astor Efren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nelson Mendoza in the 73rd minute. Astor Efren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cezar Alexandru in the 75th minute of the match. Astor Efren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cezar Alexandru in the 77th minute of play. Nelson Mendoza kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Nelson Mendoza hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. The supporters of Yupandú FC booed when UFC STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enaut Ziguenza didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 82 played minutes, Yupandú FC's Eloy Betadur shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper João Massa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Yupandú FC reached it. João Massa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shane Milligan's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. During the 85th minute of the match Therkild Prendorf completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Therkild Prendorf a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Therkild Prendorf hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Shane Milligan in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Massa saved UFC STEAUA from getting behind. Nemesio Cordaryal hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute Shane Milligan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Astor Efren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cezar Alexandru in the 94th minute of the match. Many of UFC STEAUA's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. UFC STEAUA may have spent more time on the ball, but Yupandú FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
