João Massa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inge Askelöf, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Virgil Mincu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Virgil Mincu in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Massa saved UFC STEAUA from getting behind. 55 minutes into the match, UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper João Massa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dominik Brett. 59 minutes into the match, UFC STEAUA's goal looked a bit too open when Dominik Brett came free, but João Massa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ionuț Jităreanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but João Massa made a huge save. The supporters of -BZF- Valea Buzăului booed when UFC STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xu Yue Yuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Panait Frânculescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Therkild Prendorf, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionuț Jităreanu in the 79th minute of play forced UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper João Massa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 83 played minutes UFC STEAUA got a freekick which was hit by Cezar Alexandru. The supporters of -BZF- Valea Buzăului booed when UFC STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelson Mendoza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dănuț Roman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Dănuț Roman got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
