After a rather tough play, C A U's Nico González got a free kick in the 16th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnaldo Solustiano during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of C A U booed when Real Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anak Junior couldn't finish the play. Faustino Hermelando's late challenge caught a C A U's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Faustino Hermelando helped the player get up and apologised. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. C A U walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
