Guaberto Cucao made a fantastic save in the 2nd minute, when Fabian Zăreanu sent off a good shot on target. 3 minutes into the game, Stefan Pieters cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Guaberto Cucao was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Champions Iasi's Rouven Nussli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lázaro Chap in the 8th minute of play. Stefan Pieters received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Guaberto Cucao came out and tried to block the shot, but Stefan Pieters slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 9th minute. Mainumby's Guaberto Cucao played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Pieters in the 15th minute of play. It was a penalty for Mainumby! 19 minutes into the game, Champions Iasi's Stefan Pieters nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Chap in the 27th minute of play forced Champions Iasi's goalkeeper Rouven Nussli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goalkeeper Guaberto Cucao had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Waldemar Gierlach. Guaberto Cucao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusebiu Crăciunaș in the 38th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lázaro Chap to make the kick off. Eusebiu Crăciunaș's late challenge caught a Mainumby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mainumby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Champions Iasi the free kick. Guaberto Cucao didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Champions Iasi. In the 72nd minute Stefan Pieters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guaberto Cucao saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Mainumby's zone, Stefan Pieters stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guaberto Cucao came out of the goal and Stefan Pieters tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guaberto Cucao stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Waldemar Gierlach's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Champions Iasi had won after a very even match.
