William Knutsen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Guaberto Cucao made a huge save. In the 10th minute of the match, Ivan Óbolo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Guaberto Cucao was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sagene IF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Silvano Tiadoro was slow to take the kick. During this time Mainumby's players had a chance to rest. In the 18th minute of the match Mainumby got a corner. Sagene IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Silvano Tiadoro ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Silvano Tiadoro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Glyn Wedlock quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Ivan Óbolo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Chap in the 22nd minute of play forced Sagene IF's goalkeeper Glyn Wedlock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Glyn Wedlock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lázaro Chap, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mainumby's Guaberto Cucao played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans-Kristian Aanes in the 25th minute of play. If Lázaro Chap had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 29 minutes, Dionisio Acevedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mainumby and the Sagene IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Lázaro Chap's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Glyn Wedlock was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Sagene IF's zone, Lázaro Chap stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Glyn Wedlock came out of the goal and Lázaro Chap tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mainumby's Francisco Dominic was substituted for Nunez Gizon. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hans-Kristian Aanes made a kick off. Sagene IF's William Knutsen got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guaberto Cucao took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans-Kristian Aanes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Mainumby's Luis Gelacio got a free kick in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans-Kristian Aanes in the 64th minute of play forced Mainumby's goalkeeper Guaberto Cucao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guaberto Cucao didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hans-Kristian Aanes went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Kjell Ekeli replaced Hans-Kristian Aanes. Justino Estavan hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goal looked a bit too open when Kjell Ekeli came free, but Guaberto Cucao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sagene IF's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
