Palmeiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Carlos Simões was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kjell Ekeli scored 1-0 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Régis de Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A hard shot 26 in the game by Kjell Ekeli from a close distance when the talented Régis de Queirós managed to make a qualified save. Palmeiras's players were relieved. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Palmeiras's Qarabulud La Forgia was substituted for José Carlos Simões. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kjell Ekeli to strike the kick off in the second half. Ivan Óbolo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Régis de Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. 53 minutes into the game, Leonardo Donato recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Glyn Wedlock. Leonardo Donato showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Glyn Wedlock made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Qarabulud La Forgia sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Qarabulud La Forgia got free with Glyn Wedlock in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tarcisio Reis struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Glyn Wedlock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras. 66 minutes into the match, William Knutsen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Régis de Queirós. Palmeiras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that William Knutsen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 68th minute, Christer Kinn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Óbolo in the 74th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Régis de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sagene IF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by William Knutsen in the 75th minute. A well done corner resulted in Raymond Michalsen drilling the ball in to score 3-2 behind Palmeiras's goalkeeper. Régis de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjell Ekeli in the 81st minute of play. With his leg Glyn Wedlock managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Palmeiras's Qarabulud La Forgia fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 83rd match minute, Sagene IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Óbolo to maneuver through the defense. 87 minutes into the match, Luke Clist notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Sagene IF's Glyn Wedlock. Glyn Wedlock was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell Ekeli in the 90th minute of play. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 4-3 when Kjell Ekeli sped through Palmeiras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Régis de Queirós. Many of Palmeiras's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Palmeiras may have spent more time on the ball, but Sagene IF were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
