A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conrado Miranda in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Siro Nastasio saved Kyiv from getting behind. Siro Nastasio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Conrado Miranda's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Kyiv's goalkeeper Siro Nastasio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Afonso Severo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Siro Nastasio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 38th minute Itajaí Football Club were awarded a corner. Afonso Severo went to the cornerflag to take it. Li Wen Mo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Siro Nastasio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Itajaí Football Club getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Gilberto Arce hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 44 minutes into the game, when Joosep Lõugas put in a rough tackle. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Matthew Leach made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Kyiv's goalkeeper Siro Nastasio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Conrado Miranda. After having played for 71 minutes, Rubens Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itajaí Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rubens Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rdth minute of the game Rubens Abreu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kyiv's Siro Nastasio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Rubens Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rubens Abreu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Siro Nastasio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Matthew Leach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rubens Abreu might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Siro Nastasio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rubens Abreu ran back to his position shaking his head. Kyiv made a substitution. Gennadiy Solovonyuk replaced Valeriy Derypapa. Kyiv's Siro Nastasio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Arce in the 89th minute of play. After 91 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Kyiv! Carlos Eduardo da Costa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Siro Nastasio made a huge save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Itajaí Football Club walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
