Lucrețiu Sfetcu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleksander Bykowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 6th minute, Aleksander Bykowski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gortaty fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Arturo Boruc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Costin Malcoci in the 9th minute. Czeslaw Skrzypiec's late challenge caught a FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Czeslaw Skrzypiec helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Gortaty getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Czeslaw Skrzypiec hit a great ball. Gortaty's Arturo Boruc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costin Malcoci in the 12th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Aleksander Bykowski's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucrețiu Sfetcu was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Lucrețiu Sfetcu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aleksander Bykowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Gortaty's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Costin Malcoci scored to the left of an out of position Arturo Boruc, making the score, 1-1. Gustaw Basaik lost his temper 21 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Lechințan in the 28th minute of play forced Gortaty's goalkeeper Arturo Boruc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Luca Lechințan made a precise shot to the right of Arturo Boruc. Gortaty's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-1 at half-time.

FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Adrian Nasta was substituted for Luca Lechințan. The wind increased when Czeslaw Skrzypiec made the kick off in the second half. Arturo Boruc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Nasta in the 54th minute of play. Costin Malcoci took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arturo Boruc. Arturo Boruc dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Arturo Boruc didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Costin Malcoci went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. In the 65th minute, Adrian Nasta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt made a substitution. Horia Chioreanu replaced Costin Malcoci. Valer Perișoară fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Boruc having to interfere. Arturo Boruc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Nasta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the game, Silviu Latarețu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-1. After 89 minutes of play, FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Silviu Latarețu made it 9-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arturo Boruc was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arturo Boruc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Nasta in the 91st minute of play. In the 93rd minute Adrian Nasta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Boruc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Gortaty defense, Horia Chioreanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arturo Boruc. The Gortaty fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arturo Boruc should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gortaty players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt.
