The audience thought a goal was coming when Michael Stor got free with Arturo Boruc in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 9 minutes into the game, San Fernando Eagles's Polo Quinteros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arturo Boruc made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Bartolo Salvator showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aleksander Bykowski in the 16th minute of the match. San Fernando Eagles's Bartolo Salvator played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Czeslaw Skrzypiec in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute of the match Gortaty got a corner. San Fernando Eagles's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. In the 44th minute Gortaty were awarded a corner. Aleksander Bykowski went to the cornerflag to take it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vlad Enceanu was the one to do the kick off. When Vlad Enceanu came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the San Fernando Eagles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vlad Enceanu couldn't finish the play. Iwo Mleczewski's late challenge caught a San Fernando Eagles's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iwo Mleczewski helped the player get up and apologised. Iwo Mleczewski hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Arturo Boruc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Stor in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Gortaty's goal looked a bit too open when Polo Quinteros came free, but Arturo Boruc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
