The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes, Joel Groom mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Egg Chasers FC and the Symba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tomás San Juan kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Symba's goal looked a bit too open when Jasper Delamore came free, but Anis Achour reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Matthew Brookman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Des Wicks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anis Achour having to interfere. In the 11th minute of the game, Tacettin Umay landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Jonny Wilkinson charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonny Wilkinson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Symba made a substitution. Khaled Chérif replaced Tacettin Umay. In the 12th match minute, Egg Chasers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonny Wilkinson to maneuver through the defense. After 13 played minutes Egg Chasers FC got a freekick which was hit by Alex Barone. Symba's Luis Javier Frost got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jasper Delamore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anis Achour having to interfere. In the 17thth minute of the game Des Wicks who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Symba's Anis Achour was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tomás San Juan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Fabien Barthez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomás San Juan charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomás San Juan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ronny Whieldon's late challenge caught a Symba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronny Whieldon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Ronny Whieldon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute Sadok Sfar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabien Barthez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Symba's zone, Jasper Delamore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anis Achour came out of the goal and Jasper Delamore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35th minute, one of Egg Chasers FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Egg Chasers FC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Des Wicks in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anis Achour saved Symba from getting behind. In the 44thth minute of the game Des Wicks who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Symba's Anis Achour was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Symba's Khaled Chérif got a free kick in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sílvio Veiga to make the kick off. Fabien Barthez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sadok Sfar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Des Wicks charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Des Wicks the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Des Wicks kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Symba made a substitution. Hamdi Cherif replaced Faouzi Bnouni. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Symba's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alex Barone was slow to take the kick. During this time Egg Chasers FC's players had a chance to rest. Fabien Barthez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamdi Cherif in the 64th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Egg Chasers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sadok Sfar came free, but Fabien Barthez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sadok Sfar in the 68th minute of play forced Egg Chasers FC's goalkeeper Fabien Barthez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anis Achour stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jasper Delamore's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jasper Delamore in the 94th minute of play forced Symba's goalkeeper Anis Achour to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Symba's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
