The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfred Klawki got free with Mustafa Hamit Kutlu in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Trabzon's Mustafa Hamit Kutlu got control of the ball when Alfred Klawki tried to sneak it across the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Gjermund Viste got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mustafa Hamit Kutlu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 34th minute Gencer Uluöz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Slavcho Kanov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gjermund Viste in the 37th minute of play forced Trabzon's goalkeeper Mustafa Hamit Kutlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rdth minute of the game Gjermund Viste who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trabzon's Mustafa Hamit Kutlu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

Slavcho Kanov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Keijo Kungla, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. The audience was convinced that Javier Turi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mustafa Hamit Kutlu was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game.
