Edinburgh City's Tom Saunders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartolo Nuno in the 7th minute of play. Tom Saunders took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pepito Santalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Edinburgh City defense, Bartolo Nuno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tom Saunders. The Edinburgh City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tom Saunders should have stopped the shot. Edinburgh City's Tom Saunders played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pepito Santalla in the 13th minute of play. Tom Saunders showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ladislao Bertran, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Tom Saunders came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Boca Juniors's Bartolo Nuno. But to his dismay, Bartolo Nuno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Edinburgh City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josh McLairish didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Bartolo Nuno left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Boca Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 28 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors's Bartolo Nuno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tom Saunders made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. After some careless play in the Edinburgh City defense, Pepito Santalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tom Saunders. The Edinburgh City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tom Saunders should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Carlyle hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Pepito Santalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Pepito Santalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tom Saunders breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd minute Pepito Santalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Saunders saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 46 minutes, the score became 0-7 when Bartolo Nuno sped through Edinburgh City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tom Saunders. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Bartolo Nuno made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Lluques to maneuver through the defense. Maximo Bordat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Tom Saunders made a huge save. After 67 minutes of play, Boca Juniors's Maximo Bordat made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tom Saunders was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Boca Juniors's Maximo Bordat in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Edinburgh City's goalie prevented a goal. 0-10 became the score in the 77th minute when Cristian Villarreal elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Cristian Villarreal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tom Saunders came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Villarreal slotted it home off the left post making it 0-12 in the 84th minute. Tom Saunders was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Maximo Bordat showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-13 in the 87 minute of play. In the 90th minute, Boca Juniors's Maximo Bordat ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tom Saunders. Tom Saunders yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-14. The crowd rose to their feet as Boca Juniors's Maximo Bordat slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tom Saunders. That made the score 0-15 after 93 minutes of play. The Edinburgh City fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Boca Juniors were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
